The University of Hertfordshire Golf Club is a successful sports club which welcomes all levels of ability, whether you are a beginner or a more experienced golfer. The club is active during term time, throughout the academic year.
The Sports Village on the de Havilland campus provides all gym equipment required to support personal fitness and the onsite Athletic Union provide team t-shirts as well as transport to and from matches when necessary.
Trials are held during the first week of term. You must pre-register to attend at either the AU Sports Fair on Wednesday 29 September or the SU Fresher’s Fair on Friday 1 October where you will be given further information.
The Golf Club compete in the National University League and Cup programme managed by BUCS:
- Men's 1st South Eastern Tier 1A and Championship
Home fixtures take place at Mid Herts Golf Club in Wheathampstead. Away fixtures will take place at opposing courses across the country. Members selected for the team must be prepared to commit to Wednesday fixtures regardless of whether they are home or away.
We would strongly advise you to take advantage of the Athletic Union club Health & Fitness Annual bolt on.
Personal commitment is key to the development of the team and therefore a self initiated training schedule is crucial.
Due to the nature of the sport coaching is currently not provided.

How do I join the Athletic Union?
To take out one of our superb membership deals you need to come to the Sports Village or the Athletic Union office on the de Havilland Campus with the following:
- Student ID card
- Re-enrolment e-mail (for renewing students)
- Method of payment
- Completed student membership form
How much will it cost?
The £10 Athletic Union start-up fee must be purchased before taking out any of the bolt-ons below:
- AU start-up fee: £10
- AU 1st Representative Club bolt on: £55
- AU 2nd Representative Club bolt on: £30
- AU Semester Representative Club bolt on: £35
- AU Club Health & Fitness Annual bolt on (off peak plus): £195
- AU Club Health & Fitness Semester bolt on (off peak plus): £135
