Netball is a key focus sport at the University of Hertfordshire. The club currently has 3 teams playing in BUCS (British Universities & Colleges Sport) leagues and aim to build on the successes of an impressive season last year.
The first team, after promotion from league 2B after the 2008/9 season, progressed further and won league 1A, with only 2 league losses last season. They narrowly missed out on promotion to the BUCS Premier South league after two very closely fought matches in the playoffs. Promotion to Premier League is their main goal for the first team for the next coming season.
The second team had a successful season finishing second in league 3A. The third team play in league 5B.
All teams train as a squad on Monday nights, with additional fitness sessions throughout the week. The Netball Club is a great opportunity to play netball at any level, and has a great social side. Players of all abilities are welcome.
Trials are held during the first week of term. You must pre-register to attend at either the AU Sports Fair on Wednesday 29 September or the SU Fresher’s Fair on Friday 1 October where you will be given further information.
