Welcome to the University of Hertfordshire Wu Shu Kwan Club.
Chinese Kickboxing is the art of total self-defence. It is commonly known as Kung-Fu. The aim of Chinese Kickboxing is to progressively train your body as well as your mind to achieve
positive health and to acquire effective skills to defend yourself successfully at all times.
Training is challenging, exciting and enjoyable; before long, you will be amazed at your progress under proper guidance and you will wish you had started sooner. You will make a lot of friends too. So why not give it a go.
If you are interested in training with the club, feel free to come and watch one of our classes. However, do not rely solely on what you observe to make your decision. It is often best to try it out and see if it suits you.
You must pre-register to attend at either the AU Sports Fair on Wednesday 29 September or the SU Fresher’s Fair on Friday 1 October where you will be given further information. Please try to arrive about 10 minutes before the class begins to give you enough time to change, just wear some loose clothing (such as jogging bottoms and a t-shirt). We train in bare feet.
Thursdays, 20.30 - 22.30, Studio, Hertfordshire Sports Village, de Havilland Campus.
All sessions are taken by a highly qualified Wu Shu Kwan instructor.

How do I join the Athletic Union?
To take out one of our superb membership deals you need to come to the Sports Village or the Athletic Union office on the de Havilland Campus with the following:
- Student ID card
- Re-enrolment e-mail (for renewing students)
- Method of payment
- Completed student membership form
How much will it cost?
The £10 Athletic Union start-up fee must be purchased before taking out any of the bolt-ons below:
- AU start-up fee: £10
- AU 1st Representative Club bolt on: £55
- AU 2nd Representative Club bolt on: £30
- AU Semester Representative Club bolt on: £35
- AU Club Health & Fitness Annual bolt on (off peak plus): £195
- AU Club Health & Fitness Semester bolt on (off peak plus): £135
